Snack time!

Brock sure did love the cotton candy.

Nana and Granddaddy were so gracious to treat us all to a night at the rodeo. It's become a tradition over the past several years. We took Caleb for the first time when he was three and he loved it. He was decked out for that one in boots and a hat. We went the following year even though Granddaddy got sick and wasn't able to use his ticket. Last year, Nana and Granddaddy were supposed to go with Brock, RyAnn and Nate but Brock got sick. Nana and Granddaddy got to go alone last year. This year everyone was well and the boys and I stayed a little longer so that we could make it to the rodeo.

We have yet to go to the rodeo on a pretty night and this year was no exception -- cold and rainy. The boys loved looking at all the animals. All of the boys did well sitting through the rodeo. I was most surprised by Josiah who loves to be down and running around. He sat for most of it focused on all of the animals. Josiah loved his boots and could be seen at the house in a shirt, diaper and boots. If he sees them, he wants to wear them. Caleb did not want boots this year, but when we got to the rodeo, he decided he needed a hat. So, he bought a new cowboy hat with his own Christmas money. It was a great ending to our visit to Texas. We left the following day to get back to California. It's hard to believe that the next time we make the trip, we will be a family of five.
