We received Levi's test results from the doctor today. I called and left a message this afternoon since I had not heard from the doctor. Dr. Bob called Kerry (his cell phone) around 6:30pm. The results were pretty much what he was expecting. Levi has a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). That means that Levi has a very small hole in his heart which should close on its own. There is nothing we will do at this time. We will go in when Levi is 3 months so the doctor can listen to his heart and again at the regular 4 month check up. If it hasn't closed up by the time Levi is a year old, then we will need to look at possible other options. But our doctor seems pretty confident that it will close on its own.
I've stayed pretty calm about this entire situation. Part of it is that we trust our doctor so much. Once again, I know God is keeping me calm about it all. I'm choosing not to make a big deal out of it. Levi is still a normal, healthy baby -- smiling, nursing well, and rolling over. God has blessed us with 3 healthy children and we are so thankful to Him.
