Day 6: A Hike Worth Taking

After a leisurely morning at the condo (with a little school thrown in) we headed out after lunch. We decided after driving around Mammoth Lakes that a little hike to one of the lakes would be fun. We agreed to hike to Crystal Lake which can not be accessed by car. With our three boys in tow, we headed up the mountain. I know Kerry says it was only about a mile hike, but it took us 2 hours to get to the top. It was well worth the trip though. Josiah managed to walk almost the entire way up. Then Caleb and Josiah had fun putting their feet in the ice cold water. The hike back down the mountain didn't take near as long probably because Josiah was riding on Kerry's shoulders. I really enjoyed being in a place that was completely natural -- no cars, no electricity, not even a trash can. I look forward to taking more trips surrounded by nature.
