Caleb's 9th Birthday
(Caleb requested a cake with tiger stripes. It's the best I could do. The border is falling off and looks horrible. He loved it though. It was exactly how he drew it.)
It's hard to believe that my first born turned 9 today. Caleb had great plans for his birthday, complete with meals planned. Unfortunately, Caleb is sick. He developed a fever and sore throat in the early hours of Thursday morning and is still sick. Even though he didn't get to go fishing or have friends over for cake and ice cream, we still celebrated. His day started with homemade waffles (his choice) followed by opening presents after Silas took woke up from his early nap. Then, Josiah thought Caleb should blow out his candles and have cake and ice cream. Caleb spent most of his day resting but did enjoy using some of his gifts during the day.
At age 9, Caleb loves anything related to the outdoors. He would live outside if I would let him. He loves reptiles, snakes especially, and the other day he mentioned he would like to open up a sanctuary where he could help rehabilitate injured snakes, lizards, etc. He has such a passion for the lovely creatures that I would like to find someone who could teach him more about them and allow him more hands on experience and deeper knowledge. I'm finding most zoos at his age don't seem to get as specific in one interest as he would like. He still enjoys playing baseball, and I have to admit I like watching him play. He's a great helper around the house but does enjoy bothering his brothers from time to time. I can't believe he's growing up so fast. Happy Birthday, Caleb! We love you!
